Contest.is announced today that its Social Promotions Platform will be the supporting platform for Black Celebrity Giving’s (BCG) online Inaugural BCG Awards — an online awards event honoring not only celebrities but also everyday people, doing extraordinary things around the world. “The impetus behind the BCG awards is simple; I saw an excellent opportunity to honor nonprofit organizations, celebrities and community leaders alike, who are striving on a daily basis to bring about social change in our communities!” says Jasmine Crowe, BCG Founder.
All votes will be cast through Contest.is, i.e., a social media promotions platform that will allow BCG to reach a wider voting audience. Throughout the voting period users will have the ability to cast votes through their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Voting for the BCG Awards will kick off on Monday, January 2nd, 2012. All votes will be based on BCG Reader Voting Polls. Users will cast votes in several categories including the Celebrity Giver of the Year which includes:
The online voting platform is slated to generate hundreds of thousands of impressions across the web as readers will vote online through Contest.is’ promotion platform which was developed by Sir Drafton, CTO of Hustle & Code, LLC. BCG solicited the services of Contest.is because this platform is specifically designed to enhance and extend brand awareness.
For example, users can stream their votes in their Facebook or Twitter news feed. But more importantly, Contest.is is the only social promotions platform that is embeddable on a company’s website and has Facebook Fan Page integration. Additionally, Crowe was excited about teaming up with Drafton, because Hustle & Code, LLC is a minority led start-up (located out of the San Francisco Bay Area). Drafton, is excited about bringing this innovative product to the field of social media promotions, explaining that he is excited about “Companies of all sizes to be able to provide their users with an engaging, competitive experience.”
Voting will be calculated by Contest.is’ automated online voting system, and BCG Award winners will be announced via live webcast on BlackCelebrityGiving.com and on the BCG Twitter Page @BlkCelebGiving on Monday, January 16th, 2012 AT 8PM EST in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. day of service.
